COVID-19 has changed the way the legal community and network of providers conduct business. We are all evolving and adapting every day to ensure that we are implementing new technology and practices to serve you better.
The Government of Canada’s recommendation to practice isolation and social distancing has had a tremendous impact on access to resources, and for you, on your ability to access much needed treatment and supports. We are here to help. While face-to-face interaction with your treatment providers may not be possible at this time, many providers and services can continue to operate remotely. We have identified several resources to help you during this time:
Therapy – Connecting Remotely
Your community of treatment providers, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and social workers are implementing temporary measures to supply virtual sessions. In some instances, you would need computer access, but for others, merely your telephone.
Home Based Treatment
While it is not possible right now to have community based treatment, technology has made it possible to continue with active treatment, in your home, by first consulting with your treating team. Many online platforms such as Instagram are offering Live sessions, and others, such as Peloton, have provided users with a 90 day free trial of their digital at home fitness program, which ranges in intensity and includes meditation, stretching, yoga and strength.
Many family physicians are available by telephone. If you do not have a family physician, you can speak to a registered nurse by calling Ontario’s Telehealth service.
Prescription & Medication Needs
Many drug stores feature home delivery, and depending on your location, Shoppers Drug Mart can arrange free delivery of medications to your home. Many retailers have also introduced an in-store Seniors programme in the opening hour of each day, to provide a safer environment for this at-risk demographic.
Grocery Delivery Services
