Previous Events and Appearances
The Advocates' Society offered again this established and critical event for the personal injury bar. Richard Bogoroch co-chaired the program again, which offers practical tools, tips, strategies, and templates for surviving and winning personal injury cases. The event this year attracted more than 360 lawyers. This session is designed every year to help participants understand what senior litigators are doing differently from year to year and what their recommendations and coping mechanisms are under new circumstances and regimes.
The Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) introduced in the fall of 2010 raised complex questions for all personal injury lawyers involved with accident benefits issues in Ontario. Now that the profession has had over a year's experience with the new regime, it's become possible to explore these questions in greater depth. Richard Bogoroch was part of the faculty for this in-depth session.

Bogoroch & Associates was once again a proud supporter of AIDSbeat, the Toronto legal community's annual rock & roll bash in support of CANFAR, which raises critically needed funds for HIV/AIDS research. Each year more, than 1,200 of Toronto's greatest legal minds let loose at this legal community's battle of the bands. 2011 marked the 16th annual AIDSbeat.
Every year, this comprehensive one-day Osgoode Professional Development conference brings the latest key developments in personal injury law and practice to participants every year. Richard Bogoroch returned again this year to co-chair a respected faculty of personal injury experts. Attendees were guided through recent pivotal cases and provided with a thoughtful analysis of the very latest information, together with practical tips for winning strategies and tactics.
Heidi Brown spoke at the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) 2011 Spring Conference. The conference wass entitled "Marching to Victory: The Victorious Verdict and How to Get There".

Richard Bogoroch was a panelist at this event, a Catastrophic Impairment update program, speaking on the subject of CAT assessments since September, 2010 and the problems for both insureds and insurers.

This comprehensive one-day Osgoode Professional Development conference brings participants up-to-date every year in the key areas of personal injury law and practice. Richard Bogoroch returned again this year to co-chair an accomplished and wide-ranging faculty of personal injury experts. Attendees learned about the most significant judicial decisions affecting personal injury litigation, including changes to the Insurance Act of Ontario and their implications.
Richard Bogoroch was one of the experts scheduled to speak at this respected annual event, which is also accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada towards the professional development requirement for certification.

Motor vehicle accident litigation is complex and the stakes can be high. Taking on a motor vehicle accident file can be a daunting task for the uninitiated. Bogoroch & Associates' Linda Wolanski was among the faculty of experts who guided program participants through the challenges of such claims, including shedding light on the pending reform of Bill 198 and its proposed changes and the new Rules of Civil Procedure as of January 2010.

Sheri Marshall, the latest recipient of the Bogoroch Educational Travel Scholarship, presented on the topic Difficult Intubations. Sheri Marshall, RRT, B Sc., has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist at the Hamilton General Hospital for six years and a member of the RACE (rapid assessment of critical events) team for two and one-half years. Sheri used her Bogoroch scholarship money to travel to and attend the Difficult Airways Course in Las Vegas in October 2009. Bogoroch & Associates congratulates Sheri on her successful program and presentation, and is proud to support others like her in their professional development.
Richard Bogoroch spoke again at this respected annual event, at which law clerks have the opportunity to review and refresh their skills. Topics this year included changes to the Rules of Civil Procedure and how they will affect the preparation of materials for discovery and summary judgements, an update on the increase in the claim limit at Small Claims Court, the Law Society's New Client Identification and Verification requirements, retainer agreements, contingency fees, documentation for mediations and best practices for demand letters and correspondence.
