30th Anniversary Diwali Mela

AWIC is an organization dedicated to assisting members of the South Asian community through counselling, education and practical skills instruction. Tripta Chandler, a lawyer at Bogoroch & Associates, is a volunteer member of AWIC’s Board of Directors and we are pleased to support this important organization.

Richard Bogoroch has played a long-standing role in this popular workshop, designed to enable new lawyers to gather trial experience. This workshop is renowned for breaking with traditional continuing legal education styles by focusing on learning through continual participation in simulated trial sessions, coupled with individual and group critique by experienced trial counsel and judges. Demonstrations are also used, as part of an integrated program which places the major emphasis on individual participation and performance.
Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, established to promote human rights globally through legal education, advocacy and law reform. Bogoroch and Associates was proud to be a Premier sponsor of the Fourth Annual CLAIHR Golf Tournament in support of this worthy organization.
Richard Bogoroch chaired this popular and respected event, which focuses on practitioners and insurers. Tripta Chandler participated in a panel discussion at The Canadian Institute’s annual “Reducing the Risk of Hospital Liability” conference, focussing on the legal aspects of infectious disease management.
This program, specializing in civil litigation, has been accredited by the Speciality Committee of the Law Society of Upper Canada towards the professional development requirement for certification. Richard Bogorocoh spoke at this event on Family Law Act claims.

Thursday evening, June 17th, 2004 there was a celebration of Brain Injury Awareness Month. The 4th Annual Free Concert was held at Dundas Square (southeast corner of Dundas and Yonge) in Toronto.
This seminar provides up-to-the-minute, practical information on litigating auto insurance claims, including how Bill 198 and recent regulations are affecting auto insurance claims and litigation, the essentials of effectively mediating auto insurance claims and more. Richard Bogoroch spoke on “Making the Best Use of Your Expert Witness,” providing a live
demonstration of the courtroom experience.

The program brought together leading lawyers and medical experts to explore the unique challenges associated with litigating and defending pain-related claims. Participants in the webcast learned about how these conditions impact on function, employability and long-term care needs.
Richard Bogoroch spoke at this information-packed conference, which provided the latest updates in damages law, and also focused on the practical skills and proven strategies for litigating damages. With both plaintiff and defence perspectives, as well as insights from financial experts and experienced judges, the faculty for this conference offered expert advice, from an examination of the punitive damages explosion in Canada, and damage trends in the U.S., to views on how seasoned litigators grapple with the question: “what’s that damage really worth?”
