Bogoroch & Associates is pleased to announce that the firm has donated to the Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning to create an annual $1,000 award for the Law Clerk Diploma Program. The Bogoroch & Associates donation will fund two student awards of $500 to be presented every year. The first of these awards was presented at the Humber Business School Awards Night on November 17, 2010.
The two awards are designed to recognize students who have achieved high academic standings in the first and second/graduating years of the Humber Law Clerk Diploma program. Instituting these new awards continues and deepens Bogoroch & Associates' commitment to supporting legal education which, as Richard Bogoroch has remarked, "is a privilege and an honour and of great benefit to society."
In 2011, the two award recipients were Shaina Orr (first year) and Xiaocen Shi (second/graduating year). Bogoroch & Associates extends to them the warmest congratulations on their achievements.
As detailed in the Humber College program description, a law clerk's duties in litigation offices involve filing documents with the courts, interviewing clients and witnesses, drafting, researching and accompanying a lawyer to meetings, as well as court appearances. Bogoroch & Associates recognizes law clerks as vital members of the firm's team and of any successful litigation, and hence the inspiration for this award.
